The drink
A very cold martini. A classic done well. Something new worth ordering again.
About Miles for Martinis
A travel and cocktail guide to the places worth drinking around the world. Iconic hotel bars, hidden cocktail lounges, rooftop terraces, beach clubs and the occasional perfect espresso martini.
Great rooms. Even better memories.
How it all began
Miles for Martinis started as a way to share the places we were already seeking out while traveling. The hotel bar you almost don’t want anyone else to discover. A rooftop with an incredible view. An old favorite worth returning to.
Today, it is a growing guide to the entire experience: the cocktail, the setting, the service and whether we would actually tell a friend to go.
The person behind the guide
A longtime media and communications executive, with an even more enduring enthusiasm for travel, hotels and a very cold martini.
After years spent traveling for work and for fun, Matt realized some of his favorite memories had one thing in common: a great drink in a place worth remembering.
A martini overlooking Manhattan. An espresso martini inside a historic Paris hotel. Cocktails on the Mediterranean. Miles for Martinis grew out of the idea that these places deserve a guide of their own.
The philosophy is simple
“Finding the places worth the flight, the walk, and the reservation. ”
A storyteller’s eye. A traveler’s curiosity.
Matt brings a background in television, storytelling and communications. No complicated tasting notes. No pretending every cocktail is life changing. Just an ongoing search for the next drink worth traveling for.
Our point of view
One simple question, considered from every angle. Because a memorable bar is about more than what’s on the cocktail menu.
A very cold martini. A classic done well. Something new worth ordering again.
A grand hotel room, a tucked away lounge or a terrace with a view worth traveling for.
The welcome, the care and the people who make you want to settle in.
The question that matters most: would we actually tell a friend to go?
